A singer will be bringing their holiday show to Rochester in early December.
Kat Perkins got her start while growing up in North Dakota, eventually moving to the city of Minneapolis. She performed both as a solo act and in groups during the ‘00s. One of these bands, named Scarlet Haze, became her most successful venture from this period, even performing as an opener for the legendary group Bon Jovi.
The need for vocal surgery paused her career, leading Perkins to make her return through participating in the hit show “The Voice.” Since her time on the program in 2014, Perkins has continually made trips overseas in order to sing for soldiers, toured regularly, and worked as a motivational speaker for students. Perkins also launched a non-profit called The Rising Star Foundation, which helps her local area, gives musicians chances to perform, and also presents some with scholarships.
A North Country Christmas Tour will be coming to the Mayo Civic Center. This will include a mix of redone classics and original holiday tunes such as “Quiet Christmas,” “Santa Baby,” “Dakota Christmas,” “Silent Night,” and “Run Run Rudolph.” Tickets, which can be purchased through Ticketmaster, run between $17 and $42. Perkins will also give some time on stage to an up-and-coming performer. Merchandise featuring the graphic design of the artists is often sold at concerts.
The show is scheduled to open at 7:30 pm on Friday, December 2.
