Bonsai is a form of horticulture that combines science and artistry, and an easy introduction to the practice is on the way for a Rochester venue.
The team at Seed + Stone Cidery and Lucky Buzz Meadery have teamed up with Bonsai Bar to provide those who have always wanted to try their hand at bonsai the chance to do so. Expert support and advice are included, and everyone will go home with a new green friend.
With proper care, bonsai can live for many years, and the attendees in the session will learn how to plant, prune and also how to use techniques to guide the growth of their plant so that it stays small. They can ask questions, and the species used will be very hardy and suited to the beginner. While they work, the participants can sip on some mead or another beverage, the listing pointed out there will be a variety to choose from.
Craft, plant, paint and other “hands-on sipping sessions” give members of the public time to learn a new skill and meet others who also share their interest. Printed tip and instruction sheets and other handouts materials can be prepared by local Stationery printers.
June 13th will see this beginner friendly bonsai class on offer at 1115 E Main Street in Rochester. More details can be found on its Patch listing.
