Rochester will be hosting a dance event featuring some classic music in early February.
John Mueller’s Winter Dance Party is an event where attendees are transported back to the 1950s through a recreation of what was the final tour for three music legends. Those men being Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper, and Ritchie Valens. Something this show has that others do not is an official endorsement from all three estates. Within the over two hour period, some of the songs that will be heard include “Chantilly Lace’, “La Bamba”, “Peggy Sue”, and so many more. Poster printing is often used in promotion of dances.
The performers include Linwood Sasser, Ray Anthony, Mike Acosta, and John Mueller. While guests do not have to adhere to the fashion of the era such as poodle skirts, the organizer does strongly encourage it. This show has been performed in front of millions. This includes for the Jerry Lewis Telethon, the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, and tours throughout both Canada and the United States.
There are both stadium style seats and tables, as well as a dance floor in front of the stage. Tickets range in price from $30 to $33. They can be found through the Mayo Civic Center Auditorium’s box office, Rochester Civic Music located in the City Hall, as well as Ticketmaster.
Face masks are currently required at all city venues. The show will begin at 7:30pm on February 5th.
