The Hiawathea Homes Foundation will be hosting its 33rd annual 2018 Opening Night Gala, taking place at the Festival of Trees.
The Gala is a holiday charity that funds Hiawathea Homes, which houses adults with disabilities. As the Gala’s name suggests, guests will be surrounded by an abundance of Christmas trees. The event will be one of presentable dining, with a silent auction and live auction part of the affair.
The Hiawathea Homes Foundation was established in 1973 by a group of parents whose children had disabilities. The Foundation initially supported 40 children, and included 24-hour short- and long-term respite care, physical therapy, and recreational activities. Its first adult home was established in 1981.
The group has since grown from just 50 employees to over 380, from 6 to 20 nurses, and from 40 children to 140 individuals. It has also since established 22 community-based homes for its clients. These years of growth also saw the launch of the Gala.
The event is set to take place at the Mayo Civic Center on November 20, at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $75 and can be purchased through Eventbrite. Those who give a donation of $150 or more will receive a commemorative ornament. Refunds can be up to one day before the Gala.
Flyer printing is often used for events like this in order to highlight what they will offer.
