Rochester shop to share artistic skill via class

A storefront in Rochester is giving people with an interest in a cozy craft a chance to learn a useful skill in late November to early December.

Threaducation is a class which focuses on how to sew using a variety of specialty threads, as well as which stitches to use with them. Attendees will put together their own “fun bucket” as they practice the techniques and working with the threads. Bernadette Kent, coming from WonderFil Threads, will lead participants through each step, sharing her tips and tricks along the way.

Students are asked to bring needles, general supplies needed for sewing, and their machines. Threads and other supplies will be provided by the organizers.

The venue is Pine Needles Quilt and Sew. This is a shop that sells items needed for quilting and embroidery, including machines. They even offer pickup and delivery services for machines, with prices varying depending on how far from the store the location is.

Admission is $129 for each date, with registration available via the venue’s online site. Both classes will go over the same things, with the second making a “zipper bag” instead of a “fun bucket.” Lunch will be given to attendees. Craft classes often see flyer printing used in the time of promotion. The lessons will both run between 10:00am and 4:00pm, with one scheduled for November 30th and the other following on December 1st.
