A popular video game will be played in order to raise money for various cancer organizations in late September. The event is known as the Crushing Koopas and Childhood Cancer Mariokart Tournament.
Mariokart is a game featuring characters from the Super Mario franchise, where they get to race in various vehicles on different tracks. Both adults and kids can play in separate divisions and compete to win prizes, all for a good cause.
Food will be available to purchase along with drinks. All of the money from the event will go to various organizations and charities focused on childhood cancer. While attendees can get in for free, to play for the prizes, they must pay $25. Anyone can choose to donate at the door if they would like to.
Games and music will be around for those not in the tournament to play as well as listen to. In 2019, a silent auction also took place, which is likely to occur again, along with face painting. The first prize for each division is a Nintendo Switch gaming console.
Banner printing is often used to advertise upcoming events like these at community centers. The venue for the event this year is the Mayo Civic Center. Signage will be in place to mark off the event space and help with safety. Those wishing to play can sign up and get their tickets through the event’s website. The games and fun will last from 1:00pm to 9:00pm. The date of this event is September 18th.
