Rochester event to make education fun

A mid-August experience is putting together learning and entertainment to give youngsters a way to explore the world around them.

Science Heroes is a piece of the company Talewise. Through Science Heroes, kids can experience science in an interactive, visual, and energetic show. The performer/hero will be guiding the event, while also giving audience members a chance to help and/or feel the results of everything. Attendees can also guess what may happen with the experiments, and then see the results unfold in front of them.

The storytelling element is also important, as it can help kids both relate to something and also remember information better. The theme for this event is “Adventure of the Lost Treasure.” The group will be transported far into the jungle as they go on an exciting treasure hunt and experience awesome scientific moments. Science Heroes hopes to make science/STEM more exciting and accessible to young minds.

The venue, the Rochester Public Library, is able to host this activity because of money from Friends of the Rochester Public Library. Information on the experience is available through both the venue's site and Talewise. Attending is free and open to all. The target age group is children from 0-12, but, as Science Heroes says, “Science is for everyone!” Poster printing is an easy advertising technique used for this activity, as poster art is provided by Talewise in its “Promo Kit.” The show is scheduled for August 21st, from 4:30pm to 5:30pm.
