A local event is bringing a festive twist to a popular fitness activity in late November.
The Rochester Turkey Trot is an annual, charity driven event. 2024 marks the 8th year of the All Community Events gathering. The race has several divisions, as well as a shorter event for youngsters aged eight and below. Everyone is welcome.
The main pieces are 5k in distance, with separate listings/prices for runners, kids 11 or younger, and those who would like to walk. The smaller race is a dash of 100 yards, which is the eight and under race. The run and walk are both priced at $60, with the children’s division costing $12.99. The dash is free, but a spot is available to register for it along with the other options on RunSignUp’s website. For those outside of the area who wish to take part, there is a virtual option for $50.
The charity benefiting from the event this year is Red Drop Resources. The organization’s goal is to help individuals with any form of blood cancer and their families as they go through treatments.
Included in registration for most divisions of the trot, and available for purchase for the kiddos, is a choice of a shirt or hoodie with the event’s Logo Design printed on it. The venue is Soldier’s Memorial Field Park. The location opens up at 7:30am for pickup of packets. Darlin’ Bakery & Cafe will provide donuts at the finish line. The date is November 28th.
