Rochester entertainers to honor late icon

A group of local acts will be paying tribute to a globally famous artist in early January at a Rochester venue.

David Bowie Tribute Night is a concert event that includes multiple performers, with each act covering a selection of hits from Bowie’s catalog. The show is a way to honor Bowie ahead of the anniversary of his death. In 2023’s edition, the performing bands were Hair of the Dog, Audrey Robinson, and Clay Fulton and the Lost Fortys.

A few of the tunes Bowie was associated with are “Under Pressure” with Queen, “Space Oddity,” “Let’s Dance,” “Ziggy Stardust,” “Starman,” “Heroes,” “Dancing in the Street” with Mick Jagger, and “Rebel Rebel.”

The event is held at Thesis Beer Project each year. Instead of the traditional ticket used for many concerts, the venue opts to use a “cover charge” approach. This is a small fee that allows for entry to the space, and the money from this is used to support the acts on stage. TBP’s Facebook profile provides a link to pay online.

Attendees can choose how much they spend on the cover charge. The suggested minimum amount for the David Bowie Tribute Night per guest is $5. For tribute shows, promoters will often use flyer printing to allow an easy and far reaching promotion. Attendees can expect a 7:00pm start for the January 6th concert.
