Parking fees waived in downtown Rochester

City officials have launched a new initiative that aims to bring more shoppers into downtown Rochester this month.

The program will be running for a limited time period. While it is on, people who choose to dine, shop or make a purchase from any downtown Rochester business will be given a voucher for three hours of free parking. These can be used on any of the municipal ramps.

Every customer-focused business in downtown Rochester may participate. The business simply needs to place a request and it will get a set of parking vouchers that can be given to customers. Consumers must make purchases at the participating businesses before they can receive the vouchers. Stationery printers can be used to Print vouchers in situations like this.

The Rochester Downtown Alliance (RDA) Executive Director, Holly Masek, stated:

“We still have some great weather coming our way to enjoy outdoor dining, and we’re heading into early holiday shopping season. We hope the attraction of free parking will remind customers how fun and accessible a visit downtown can be.”

The City of Rochester is funding the Downtown Free Parking Program, while the RDA will be in charge of overseeing the program with the goal of encouraging people to keep shopping in the downtown area. The program is ongoing and will run until October 31.
