Music legend to grace Rochester stage

A performer who has become a big name since their start as a teen is visiting a Rochester venue in mid December.

Judy Collins is a singer, songwriter, and musician. Since the age of 13, Collins has wowed crowds with her skill, original pieces, and unique spins on classic music. She has earned numerous awards and the adoration of generations of listeners. Collins also serves as a mentor to younger talent. Collins even took a step into the world of filmmaking/directing to tell the story of her own mentor/piano teacher Antonia Brico. The film, “Portrait of a Woman,” was even nominated at the Academy Awards.

Her discography is 55 albums large. A selection of the tunes from this list includes “Send in the Clowns,” “In My Life,” “Who Knows Where the Time Goes,” “Wild Mountain Thyme,” and “All The Pretty Horses.”

The Holidays & Hits Tour will see Collins perform a number of hit holiday tunes alongside some of her regular tracks. The show is being held inside the Mayo Civic Center’s CH Mayo Presentation Hall. Tickets to the concert, which are being sold through Ticketmaster, range in cost from $36.26 to $200.60, including fees. Many music events see featured artists selling merchandise with a graphic design that ties back to them and either the tour/event or a specific piece of their work. The show begins at 7:30pm on December 18th.
