Kids learn entrepreneurial skills at Lemonade Day

Events leading up to Lemonade Day have been scheduled for May.

Lemonade Day is a free learning experience where local youth can learn intrapreneurial skills by starting their own businesses. They will be deciding on what products they want to sell, creating budgets, and making marketing plans among other things.

The program has been organized to empower youth to become actively engaged in society. The young entrepreneurs will be able to keep all the money they generate.

Registration may be done online, and April 27th at Apache Mall from noon to 3:00 pm and Spark Children's Museum from 10:00 am to noon.

Lemonade Day T-Shirts featuring this year's Lemonade Day graphic design and Backpacks will be available at Rochester Area Chamber Office from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm on May 30th, Rochester Farmer Market from 7:30 am to noon, and Apache Mall May 18th from noon to 3:00 pm.

The kick-off event will be a family fun night featuring Air Insanity on May 9th from 4 pm to 6 pm. That will be followed by the Best Tasting Contest at the Rochester Athletic Club on May 19th from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm.

Lemonade Day will be Saturday, June 8th and maps will be available for the locations of all the stands.

Towns that organize experiences like this often have pictures taken during the event and sent to local Print shops for duplicate Copies for local government walls.
