Contest to benefit Rochester organization

A pair of competitions will be set to help out a company geared towards kids in Rochester in mid-September.

Chili Challenge 2022 is an event put on by several sponsors in order to raise funds for the local branch of the Boys & Girls Club. Groups, businesses, and individuals will be among the entrants for attendees to choose from. There will be more than 20 booths, and guests are encouraged to sample some of the food from each one. Afterwards, everyone will need to rank the chilis they felt were the best ones. The winner will be crowned towards the end of the night.

For those who are able to drink alcohol, there will also be another contest for homebrewed beverages. This provides a focus on smaller brewers rather than the big companies. Judging for this will also work in the same way as the chili tasting.

Music will be playing as well, adding another element to the atmosphere. The artists performing will be Good Morning Bedlam and Tony Cuchetti. Games and other activities will also be available to keep everyone entertained. Tickets are $5 for those aged 12 or younger, $20 for just the chili sampling, and $30 for access to both the brewed drinks and chili. Flyer printing will often be done to promote similar events.

The venue is the Mayo Civic Center and activities will run from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm on September 15.
