Healthcare company plans new corporate headquarters

Cardiovascular Systems, Inc. (CSI) recently announced that New Brighton will be home to its new corporate headquarters.

The company will be located in the New Brighton Exchange, 10 miles from downtown Minneapolis. Most likely, business card printing will be used for those working in the new facility.

Construction on the two-story building will begin immediately. There will be space for research and development, manufacturing facilities, and training and development. In total, the building will house over 500 employees. Ryan Companies U.S., Inc. will be the contractor.

The company makes medical devices for treating vascular and coronary disease. According to CSI president and chief executive officer, David L. Martin, it has outgrown its current facilities with the recent approval by the FDA of a new coronary technology and the growth of its peripheral businesses. The company will be able to remain in New Brighton, where it has been since 2005, and is now ready to expand.

Martin said that 28 million people in the United States suffer from coronary or peripheral artery disease. Expanding the company’s operations will enable it to better serve these patient populations.

CSI will own the building and be the only tenant. The anticipated date for occupancy is March 2015. There are currently 191 employees in the Twin Cities and 43 people in a manufacturing plant in Texas.
