Golden retrievers and their owners here in New Brighton are invited to the 16th Annual Goldzilla coming in mid-September.
Guests can look forward to meeting other Goldens and Golden mixes, walk with fellow Golden lovers, enjoy activities and support the cause by joining in fundraising efforts.
Participants may win walk prizes. The prizes are cumulative which means not only will the level of fundraising prize be awarded but all the prizes leading up to that level also. Those raising $100 or more will receive purple event T-Shirts, and those raising more may get 2025 Calendars, lure vouchers, mystery wag Bags, and special VIP Goldzilla Reserved Parking passes.
Some activities will include a memorial board, a lure course where dogs chase mechanical lures, an agility course, and a photo contest. Dogs may romp in Long Lake and have some off-leash play in a designated area. From 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, dog trainer Cheryl Gfrerer will be on site answering any dog behavior questions. Paw Print paintings will be available for $!0 each, and there will be a doggie lotto with prizes. Veterinary technician students will give canine guests free ear cleanings and nail trims. A DIY selfie station will offer souvenir photos.
Photos taken at events such as this often go to Print shops to be included in family newsletters and yearly Calendars.
Goldzilla 2025 will take place rain or shine Sunday, September 14th from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at Long Lake Regional Park.
