New Brighton residents who wish to learn a new skill should be interested in an interactive event taking place in October. This seminar will teach participants the art of wood burning, and everyone is welcome to attend.
The Woodburned Leaf Coaster Workshop has been created by the Northern Soda Company. All attendees will be provided with their own blank wooden coaster. They are then given a template that enables them to apply a type of gel. Once the gel is heated, an impression will be left on the coaster. The benefit of this approach is that traditional pyrography tools are not necessary.
After the pattern has set, users can then personalize their creations by coating them with a semi-transparent stain. This stain is available in many colors, so no two coasters will appear the same. Organizers have provided all materials, and these can be taken home once the event concludes.
