Those here in New Brighton looking for something to do during winter may enjoy Ice Castles Minnesota and/or Snow Many Traditions.
Ice Castles Minnesota will be a snow and ice winter playground that offers wintry experiences for both children and adults. Guests may zoom down ice slides, explore ice caverns and stroll through archways under icicles forming a shining winter "chandelier. Kids and brave adults may enjoy squeezing their way through passageways in the Crawl Tunnels.
International and local artists are hand-carving elegant ice sculptures that will be hidden among the archways, caverns and tunnels throughout the venue. The sculptures will be lit up with LED lights at night.
Ice Castles Minnesota will take place at the Minnesota Fairgrounds, 3818 Randall Avenue, beginning January 3rd.
Another winter option will be Snow Many Traditions- a free winter festival. Special guests will be characters Elsa and Anna from the movie Frozen.
Many children are thrilled to meet their favorite movie characters and pictures taken of the event often go to nearby Print shops to be added to family Calendars.
Community organizations will be manning booths that will be displaying and discussing winter traditions. The venue will offer performances and cultural displays and there will be plenty of hot cocoa, treats, holiday games and crafts.
Snow Many Traditions will take place at the Brooklyn Community Center, 6301 Shingle Creek Parkway, Brooklyn Center from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Saturday, December 6.
