Many of those here in New Brighton who love the outdoors will be attending the Memorial Day Paddle and the opening of the 2026 Summer Concert series.
Memorial Day Paddle will be free and will be a casual 4-mile paddle with a 2-mile cutoff option around Long Lake.
The New Brighton Memorial Day Paddle will take place on May 25th with check-in at 9:00 am followed by the paddle at 9:30 am. The 4-mile route should take about 90 minutes while the shorter 2-mile will take about 60 Minutes.
Everyone is invited to bring blankets or chairs to enjoy this year's Summer Concert Series presented by the New Brighton Lions Club. On Thursday, May 14th the first performance of the series will be provided by an acoustic, Indie Folk duo - Wren and Wilde. They will be followed by Sawyer's Dream playing 70's inspired Americana on June 11th. On July 9th Necessary Diversion will play pop covers and classic rock, and Retro Soul & the Westside Horns with Big Mike will end the series playing R&B and soul on August 13th.
This free concert series will take place in Veterans Park, 803 Old Highway 8 NW from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
