David Brooks to present on his book at Bethel University

Bethel University, which is located almost three miles away from New Brighton, Minnesota, will be hosting a presentation called David Brooks: The Road to Character.

Certainly no stranger to printing services, Brooks is a columnist and an author. He has held several writing positions, such as being a columnist for The New York Times. He has also worked for the Weekly Standard since its establishment and has been an occasional editor for Newsweek and Atlantic Monthly. He is currently teaching at Yale University, and holds several honorary degrees from several colleges, including New York University, Brandeis University, and Occidental College.

The Road to Character is his newest book. It goes into depth about how and why a more selfless character leads to a richer life, and emphasizes the importance of inner development over success by external achievement. As far as Brooks is concerned, humility and moral depth are more important than external accolades earned from quality external achievement in business or academics.

The presentation is sponsored by the Johnson Center for Journalism and Communication. It will be in the Benson Great Hall building of Bethel University. The event is free of charge but requires a ticket, which will be made available by the University website soon, and starts at 7:00 pm on September 25.
