Riders in the Sky will be performing in Grand Rapids this September.
Three young men dedicated to preserving Western music's heritage have created a legacy that has lasted over 45 years. In 1977, Ranger Doug, Too Slim, and Windy Bill Collins started by performing at a Nashville venue. Windy Bill left, replaced by Woody Paul, marking the professional beginnings of the band. They gained recognition through appearances on Austin City Limits and a stint on The Nashville Network. Hollywood beckoned, and the trio starred in "Riders In The Sky" on CBS, gaining a new generation of fans.
Their association with Disney, including voicing "Woody's Roundup" in "Toy Story 2," propelled them to even greater heights, leading to two Grammy Awards. The quartet embraced satellite radio with the "Classic Cowboy Corral" show on Sirius/XM. Their journey involved over 7,200 appearances, 35 years on the Grand Ole Opry, 40 albums, and global tours. They amassed honors from the Western Music Association and the Cowboy Hall of Fame.
