Grand Rapids prepares for family-friendly festival

Grand Rapids will host the 'Dogtoberfest' event this October.

The festival, hosted by Itasca Dog Lodge, invites dog lovers everywhere to attend. With it being a family-focused event, children of all ages are welcome.

There will be special doggie treats such as costumes, a dog massage spa, and professional photographers. There will also be rally racing, and a “look like your pet” event.

All pets attending the festival must be non-aggressive, and should be on a leash. Food will be available for sale at the event. Pet parents should clean up after their pets.

Tickets will be available at the door for purchase and are $7 per person, while children under five are free to enter. There will be a $1 discount applied to parties with four or more members.

The event is being held in aid of the Range Regional Animal Rescue (RRAR), an organization dedicated to sheltering abandoned pets and caring for them until they find new homes. All vendors are asked to give part of their proceeds to the RRAR. Flyer printing can be an effective way for vendors to get exposure for their wares at such events.

Dogtoberfest will be held at Itasca Dog Lodge, located at 27386 Jess Harry Rd, Grand Rapids, Minnesota 55744. Taking place on October 2, the event begins at 12:00 noon and will end at 5:00 pm.
