9 to 5 The Musical will be showing in Grand Rapids this July.
This is a stage adaptation of the popular 1980 movie of the same name, featuring the lyrics and music of Dolly Parton. Based on the Patricia Resnick book, the story takes place in the late 1970s and revolves around the amusing and thought-provoking experiences of three women co-workers in the pre-digital age.
Fed up with their sexist, deceitful, and ego-driven boss, the trio concocts a plan for revenge. In a twist of fate, Violet, they make their wildest fantasy come true by getting rid of their boss. While their boss is occupied elsewhere, the women seize the opportunity to transform their workplace into their dream environment, seizing control of the company that had oppressed them for so long.
Advanced tickets will cost between $11 and $22. Tickets are not exchangeable or refundable. Interested individuals can purchase tickets through the Reif Performing Arts Center website. If the event is canceled without there being a rescheduled date, purchasers will get a refund.
