Grand Rapids hosts fundraiser

Residents of Grand Rapids, Minnesota can give back this holiday season through a local fundraiser. 'Home is Where The Heart is' is a local dinner event put on by the Grace House of Itasca County.

The Grace House is a shelter for those experiencing temporary homelessness. The shelter can host guests for up to 30 days. During this time, they encourage participation in workshops and other resources to encourage introspection and self-development. These resources help them with matters such as employment skills and other measures to help them get back on their feet. In August 2021 alone they have contributed to the lives of over 130 guests.

The shelter accepts donations year-round, but the dinner offers residents a way to give back in style. There will be an open Prime Rib buffet, and live entertainment throughout the event. Music is provided by the Northern Lights Trio.

Tickets are $60 per person. They are available for sale at the Timberlake Lodge, as well as the GR Super One Stores. Those attending may also call to purchase tickets at 218-326-2790. Tickets will be $65 each after November 27.

Banner printing is good way for event participants to showcase what they have to offer.

The Dinner Fundraiser will be held at Timberlake Lodge, located at 144 SE 17th Street, Grand Rapids, Minnesota 55744. It begins at 5:00 pm and ends at 10:00 pm.
