A community-based event for artists is set to take place in Grand Rapids this November.
The ‘Artist’s Critique Night’ will be a primary networking and self-improvement event for artistically inclined residents. The event comes as the first in a series of monthly events meant to target those who would like to connect with other artists while learning to improve their own craft.
Four artists are selected for each gathering. The session will give artists approximately 25 minutes to showcase their artwork. During these critique sessions, artists have the opportunity to describe their work and open the floor to receive feedback. Sign-ups for these critique slots are available on the event's webpage.
The event is put on by Cultivate, a prominent local arts organization. It will serve as a monthly celebration of artistic expression and a dynamic exchange of ideas. It also aims to show art criticism as an essential tool for an artist's development and growth. Participants are encouraged to maintain a kind and supportive atmosphere as they analyze the artwork alongside the artist.
