The curtain will be going up this February for a Fairmont workshop that will see kids show off their acting and improvisation skills, all while having fun and making new friends.
Children who are in grades kindergarten to six who have a flair for the theatrical may find that the Red Rock Children’s Theatre workshop is a perfect fit for them. No costumes, rehearsals, or memorization is needed, and everyone is welcome, whether or not they have any experience on the stage.
The kids in the event will work together to prepare their own unique version of ‘Peter Pan’, and improvisation and just plain having a great time will be the order of the day. They will work throughout the morning to get their play ready, and in the afternoon, they will stage a performance for their family and friends.
This chance for area kids to enjoy a taste of the theatrical arts is being offered, in part, through the support of the Martin County Youth Foundation. Lunch is included in the registration price, and only a limited number of spaces are available. A professional poster printing company can design Posters to let kids know that an event like this is on offer in their community.
The Fairmont-Red Rock Center for the Arts, which is located at 222 E. Blue Earth Ave will be offering this workshop on February 2. More information can be obtained by calling 507-235-9262.
