Sunflower Communities will be bringing an event to Fairmont that will give nurses, social workers, and others a chance to improve their skills when it comes to providing personal centered care.
The workshop, which has been developed to share practical tips through interactive learning, will address a variety of topics. It will be facilitated by Megan Hickenbottom, MSW, LGSW, who is Sunflower Communities’ Housing Director.
Some of the items on the agenda for discussion during the event include an introduction to person-centered thinking and why it can be an important skill to have. The participants will then discover ways that they can integrate the theory into practice as part of their daily work routine, and also how this can be transferred to other areas of a person’s career and personal life as well.
There is no charge to participate in the workshop, and those social workers and nurses who choose to do so may qualify for CEU credits. Lunch will also be provided. Pamphlets and other items for an event like this can be supplied by a brochure printing company.
This opportunity for those in caring professions to learn how they can add person centered thinking to their skill set will be offered on July 26 at Holiday Inn Fairmont. It is scheduled to run from 11:30 am until 1:00 pm.
