Fairmont sets date for September Sip and Stroll

The Fairmont Chamber of Commerce has set aside a day in mid-September that will be all about showing some love to the local small businesses that call the community home.

Sip and Shop will be a tasting trail that boasts at least 22 stops. The check-in kiosk will be set up in Citizens Park Downtown, and attendees must be at least 21 years old to participate.

When they arrive at the check in station, registrants will learn about the various stops. Only 300 tickets will be sold, and while there may still be some left on the day of the activity, they will be more expensive than if they are purchased in advance. Each of the businesses that take part will have sips of wine and other beverages as well as snacks to share, and many will have sales and other specials on offer. The proceeds from the day will be used for the Holiday Street Light Fund.

Wine strolls and other events encourage community members to learn more about the small businesses, eateries, and other establishments that call an area home. Printing services companies can prepare maps as well as souvenir tasting glasses and other items for a special event where food and drinks will be served.

Fairmont will be showcasing its retail side on September 12th. The Sip and Shop event will run from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and tickets start at $20.00 each.
