Fairmont kids invited to give weaving a whirl

Weaving is an art form that can be used to create useful objects, and Fairmont kids can get their feet wet when they attend an introductory class series in their home community.

The Art Room at Fairmont Elementary School has been reserved for the Sweater Paws workshop series, which is geared toward youth in grades 3 to 6. It will be hands on, and the final date to sign up is February 25th.

Each of the attendees will be working with the yarn and other materials supplied to craft their own “kitty”, and while they do, they will be learning about textures and the basics of weaving textiles. They can customize their creation, and as they will be made by hand, each completed project will be unique. The registration fee being charged is $35.00. The sessions all run for 45 minutes each, the instructor will be Ashley Jensen.

After school activities and other fun give kids a chance to get creative. Materials prepared for an organizer by a flyer printing company may be very effective in getting the word out about an event.

The Sweater Paws Workshop will begin on March 4th. Full payment is required upon registration, and anyone who would like to add their child’s name to the list may do so through the Fairmont Area Schools website, and it is listed as class #WI25-5025 Mar.
