Fairmont families offered spots in summer feeding program

A Fairmont feeding program will be up and running in July, and families with a son or daughter in summer school are welcome to participate.

The Summer Meal Service program is set to begin for 2024, and the breakfast and lunches will be served on weekdays. There will also be adult tickets available for the meals, which may be purchased in the venue's business office for prices starting from as little as $3.

Those who take advantage of the initiative will receive their meal, which they must eat on site. The child must be present to accept the food, but ID or other paperwork is not required. The items on the menu will be nutritious, and both breakfast and lunch will be served on weekdays. These will be on offer, free of charge, for those 18 and under. The location for the distribution will be Fairmont Elementary school, located at 714 Victoria Street.

School lunch and breakfast programs are running in many communities in the USA, helping to fill gaps in the social safety net. A poster printing company will be pleased to provide custom designed items that help to get the word out to those who may benefit from a particular initiative.

Fairmont families that can make use of the Summer Meal Service are invited to learn more about the program by visiting its website. It will run from Monday, July 8 until Friday, July 26.
