Kids and bike soften go hand in hand, and a Fairmont activity may help them to hit the road safely.
The city has organized an event that will be all about the safe operation of two wheeled vehicles, and it will be set up in the west parking area at Fairmont Elementary School. There's no charge to get involved.
The Bike Rodeo will give kids an opportunity to learn the rules of the road to follow when riding, and tips for minor bicycle repairs and basic maintenance will also be on the agenda. Everyone can have their tires pumped up if needed, and the session will run for one hour. Financial and other support for the function has been supplied by the Bicycle Shoppe of Fairmont, the Fairmont Community and Recreation (CER) and Police Department as well as the Kiwanis Early Risers.
Bike rodeos and similar activities can make learning about safety a lot more fun for any age. Certificates of completion for all sorts of workshops can be crafted by the graphic design team at a local printer, which can also supply Promotional Products to hand out.
May 1st will Fairmont kids brush up on bike safety by attending its spring Bike Rodeo. The session will start at 4:00 pm and end at 5:00 pm, and questions or comments from parents can be directed to the community's CER office at 507-235-3141.
