An old fashioned “social” is scheduled in Chanhassen.
Tri-County A.B.A.T.E. is the host of the upcoming FREEdom Fall Social, a chance to go outdoors and enjoy beautiful autumn weather. The event is also a chance to visit with other motorcycle enthusiasts, and enjoy a traditional menu of brats, hot dogs, hamburgers, ice cream, and chips. Organizers will be inviting elected officials to drop in as their schedules permit.
A.B.A.T.E. stands for American Bikers for Awareness, Training, and Education of Minnesota. The organization is a grass roots, non-profit group that is dedicated to educating both the general public and motorcyclists themselves about motorcycling. It promotes the positive aspects of riding, and takes part in the political process at national, state, and local levels to protect motorcyclists’ rights. A.B.A.T.E. believes that making riding safer, and reducing accidents and fatalities is achieved by educating and training both riders and the public, rather than passing legislation.
The social is scheduled for September 14, from 12.00 pm until 4.00 pm, at the Carver Beach Playground, 900 Carver Beach Road, Chanhassen. Pets are welcome, but must abide by park rules. Admission is free. Donations to A.B.A.T.E. of Minnesota, or to the Motorcycle PAC of Minnesota are very welcome, but not required. When events of this type are planned, organizers will often request that printers work with brochure printing to create pamphlets that explain the group and its mission.
