A musician who is rapidly becoming a favorite of audiences throughout the Midwest is coming to Chanhassen with a tribute to a great Southern band.
Shane Martin plays country rock and averages 200 shows annually, both with his band and as a solo act. He has played festivals, performed with national acts, and packed popular venues with high-energy performances. According to Kenny Royster, an Emmy-winning record producer, Martin is:
“a great singer songwriter on the teetering edge of country, pop, and rock where it's just dangerous enough to be fun.”
Now, Martin has turned his talents to honoring one of America’s greatest bands, Alabama. Alabama songs have been part of Martin’s setlist for a long time, and now he has decided to build an entire show around them. His “Songs of the South – Alabama Tribute” is scheduled for two performances at the Chanhassen Dinner Theaters.
Alabama first got together in 1969 in Fort Payne, Alabama, with cousins Randy Owen and Teddy Gentry as founding members; Jeff Cook, another cousin, soon joined to form the original lineup. The band has over 40 number one hits to their credit, including “Love in the First Degree” and “Born Country” and “Dixieland Delight.”
“Songs of the South” is set for January 9 and 10 at the Fireside Theatre at Chanhassen Dinner Theatres, 501 West 78th Street. Events like this benefit from the colorful publicity afforded by Posters, which organizers will find at Print shops.Get a Free Quote for Print Get a Free Quote for Posters
