Show in Chanhassen brings musical era to life
An upcoming show in Chanhassen celebrates the music of a special group of artists and the era they represent.
“California Dreamin’ – the Songs of Laurel Canyon” bring back the songs that changed pop music and introduced a new genre, Folk Rock. Laurel Canyon is a Los Angeles neighborhood near Hollywood, and during the 1960s and 1970s, it was home to some of the most iconic musicians and bands in the industry. Among the neighborhood residents were Jackson Browne, Joni Mitchell, Glenn Frey, Graham Nash, and Neil Young. The groups that got their start in that legendary area include The Doors, The Eagles, Crosby, Stills & Nash, and perhaps the most iconic of them all, The Mamas and the Papas.
The performers who will bring the hits to life are Timothy Frantzich, Paul Frantzich, Aimée Lee, Boyd Lee, and Mary Jane Alm, all veteran vocalists who have brought this show to venues throughout the area. They will be backed by an outstanding group of experienced musicians. Together, they will take audiences back to the era when songs on the radio were by artists like Jefferson Airplane, Buffalo Springfield, Linda Ronstadt, and The Association.
The tribute to Laurel Canyon is scheduled for September 18 and September 20, in the Fireside Theater at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatres. Organizations that plan performances like this often use poster printing methods to promote them.
