Night to Unite (NTU), a yearly event hosted all over Minnesota that is designed to keep the local communities safe, takes place next week
Ensuring that local communities such as Chanhassen are kept safe requires active involvement from the community’s members. Night to Unite is designed to help remind locals about their responsibility to look out for each other by bringing them together once a year to celebrate their close ties with each other. The organizers use this as an opportunity to inform them of the steps that can be taken to build a strong community.
Residents of cities and towns all over Minnesota are likely to have seen flyer printing aimed at promoting this event.
The NTU events organized in local neighborhoods include block parties and community meetings. Residents are encouraged to attend these events, where they can share ideas about security protocols and network with local law enforcement. City representatives and deputies make an effort to visit every neighborhood that is participating in the statewide event.
The event’s primary goals are to:
- Increase awareness about crime prevention techniques
- Strengthen community ties with local law enforcement
- Improve relations between neighbors
The event is sponsored and hosted by Minnesota’s AAA, community law enforcement and the Minnesota Crime Prevention Association. On April 9, the organizers held an appreciation breakfast at the Chaska Community Center as a way to promote the upcoming event.
This year’s event is set to be held next Tuesday, August 6.
