Chanhassen is planning several days of fun to celebrate July 4.

The City of Chanhassen is organizing the 41st celebration, which covers three days. More than 70,000 people come to Lake Ann Park and City Center Park to enjoy the annual festivities. The packed schedule includes a parade, kids’ activities, a beer garden, a street dance, a carnival, local food vendors, and live music.

On July 2, events include Family Night at the Carnival, and a live performance for children with Tricia and the Toonies.

July 3 is crammed with events including a Minnesota Twins Youth Baseball Clinic, where youngsters can learn the basics of throwing, fielding, and hitting. The free clinic is at Chanhassen High School, but pre-registration is required.

Other events on the 3rd include Water Wars, Midwest Carnival concessions and rides, and a free business expo. In addition, the Rotary Club of Chanhassen is hosting the Llama Experience, as well as the Taste of Chanhassen. Vendors who will be serving food include Borealis Bowls, Paella Depot, and more. The country band Up South Music will be playing.

July 4 brings the parade, more events, contests, music, and fireworks. The parade is at 2:30 pm, starting at Kerber Boulevard and Santa Vera Drive, then heading to West 78th Street in what is a new route for this year.

The fireworks are at 10.00 pm. When celebrations like this are planned, organizers often work with banner printing to create holiday decorations for the venues.
