Summer at Blake will bring fun activities to children in the Wayzata, near Chanhassen, including Clay Handbuilding: Fake Food event in August.
Led by Minnetonka Center for the Arts, participating students in grades 3 through 6 are invited to roll up their sleeves and dive into clay. Class projects are incorporated into a children’s camping session. The campers will create original works of art that focus on fake food that looks real. Some of the ideas that will be tossed out to the kids include sprinkle donuts, pizza, cupcakes with frosting, sunny-side-up eggs, and sushi.
After the children create their fake food from clay, they will have the opportunity to paint, glaze and fire the pieces as they learn the processes involved step by step. They will be able to retrieve their food art in three weeks after the camping session ends.
Poster printing is a good way to prepare appealing and eye-attracting information signage to get the attention of the public for events like this type. The Posters can be printed in full color and mounted on easels or placed on walls in high-traffic areas.
The Clay Handbuilding: Fake Food camping session will take place at the Wayzata Campus August 3-6. The campus is located at 301 Peavey Lane. The fee is $195; interested parties can register online.
