An extensive lineup of free music events for the summer has been announced by Shelby Township.
Such events are often made known throughout a community with flyer printing.
Among the organizers of these events are the Shelby Township Community Relations Department, the Shelby Township Lions Club, the Shelby Township Parks, Recreation and Maintenance Department, and Connect Macomb.
Down Home Days at Knights Park and Pavilion will kick off the series of events at the end of May, and will feature a vibrant mix of DJs and bands. Refreshments and community gatherings will be at the Lions Club Party Pavilion. The performers for Down Home Days will be Sunset Boulevard, Scott Cummins, FiftyAmpFuse, Bernadette Kathryn and the Lonely Days Band, and The Actual Proof. Down Home Days will take place from Friday May 24 through Monday May 27.
The Shelby Township Downtown Development Authority will be presenting the inaugural Shelby Township Summerfest at the Municipal Campus of Shelby Township at the end of June. The first day of the festival will have activities for the family, including a Kids Zone, a petting zoo, and face painting by the Shelby Township Library, as well as an outdoor movie screening and the annual princess sing-along. The second day will have a patriotic performance by the Macomb Symphony Orchestra, as well as a drone show to celebrate Independence Day.
The Shelby Township Summerfest will take place on Friday June 28 and Saturday June 29.
