Several holiday events will be taking place in Shelby Township next month.
Such events can be promoted throughout a town with flyer printing.
The annual tree lighting and Christmas Aglow are expected to be the highlights of the season due to the ongoing partnership between the town and the Shelby Township Downtown Development Authority.
Featured will be a Christmas tree measuring 40 feet high at the Civic Center on Van Dyke Avenue. The traditional stage show of Shelby TV will start the festivities before the tree lighting. There will also be a meet-and-greet with a real reindeer, hot cocoa, horse-drawn wagon rides, and songs of the season, all taking place outside the library.
Ambassadors from the North Pole who are among the winners of the Christmas Coloring Contest of Shelby Township will give the key to the township to Santa Claus as he lights the tree. High-flying drones will also light the night sky with a dance of lights.
The tree lighting will begin next Friday, December 5 at 6:00 pm. Afterwards, Santa and Mrs. Claus will go to the Shelby Township Library to pose for free photos with children until 8:30 p.m.
Children will be able to write a letter to Santa in the children’s area in the library. If letters are placed in the special mailbox by Saturday, December 13 at 5:00 pm, children will receive a reply from Santa.
