This structure will be a major part of the long-term vision held by the township’s Civic Center Campus.
The contractor for the project is Frank Rewold and Sons, Inc. Designed by Auger Klein Aller Architects, this project will replace the bandshell of the township that was demolished in 2019 so the Shelby Township Library could be built. A new bandshell has since been a priority of residents.

Trustee Lisa Casall, who supervised the team that played a role in designing the facility, said:
“Over several years, a dedicated team worked through countless meetings, reviews, and evaluations to ensure this project truly reflects the needs of our residents and staff.”
She added that particular focus went on protecting the healthy financial standing of the township during the process, and that the budget for the project will a cash payment so the township will incur no debt and will not need to issue bonds, nor raise taxes for citizens.
The project is expected to be completed by June 2027 in time for the Bicentennial Summer Fest in Shelby Township.
