Cornerstone Community Financial Credit Union (CCFCU) will be holding a Shred Day at the Troy Member and Operations Center on E Big Beaver Road in Troy next month. Residents of nearby Shelby Township who have documents such as pay stubs, bank statements, medical records, and insurance paperwork, among other important documents may want to attend this event.
Events like this can reduce clutter and protect oneself from identity theft while also disposing of paper in an environmentally friendly manner.
Those who want to get their papers shredded need to pull into the designated drop off lane. The items will be retrieved from their vehicles and shredded on site. Each car can bring three Boxes of items to be shredded, and all items need to be in box or bag that can be lifted. No plastic Bags will be accepted, and no sorting will be done on site.
The CCFCU will also be accepting donations of pet supplies for the Michigan Humane Animal Rescue. For those who cannot attend the event and want to donate to this cause can go to the wish list on Amazon for the Animal Rescue.
Such events and their charitable efforts can be promoted throughout a town and region with poster printing.
Shred Day will take place on Saturday April 18. It will run until noon or until all the trucks have been filled.
