The Shelby Township Parks, Recreation and Maintenance Department is offering a range of activities for the summer.
The 15th Annual Flea Market will be held this weekend. There will be hidden treasures and bargains. Whispering Woods Kiwanis Park on Mile Road will also have an array of vendors with items for sale. This free and open to the public event will take place on Saturday, July 26 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Such special activities and events can be promoted throughout a town with poster printing.
Kids can become entrepreneurs in the 20th Annual Kid-to-Kid Sale, taking place at the Shelby Township Activities Center. There are six-foot tables for kids between the ages of 4 and 16 to reserve for $5, then sell games, Books, toys, and other items. This event is sponsored by the Christian Financial Credit Union and will be held on Saturday, August 2 from noon to 2:00 pm.
In September, Soggy Doggy Day will take place at Gene Shepherd Park, where dogs get a chance to take over the splash pad. Dogs weighing over 30lb will have their fun from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, while smaller dogs can play from 11:00 am to noon. Owners need to show proof of current vaccinations and licensing of their pets, and must pre-register for the event. It will take place on Saturday, September 6.Get a Free Quote for Books
