Shelby Township to honor veterans

The annual Veterans Day Ceremony will take place next month in Shelby Township.

Phil Randazzo, the Veterans Event Coordinator, will be organizing this event. Featured at the event will be speeches, patriotic musical performances, and a special prayer. It will take place at the Veterans Memorial on Van Dyke Avenue.

Randazzo said that this is a special occasion to honor and remember the fallen soldiers of the country and the town. He added that this is a day to celebrate the women and men who have served this country and who were able to return home after their service.

The mission of the Shelby Township Veterans Memorial is to honor and bring awareness to the veterans who live in Shelby Township and Macomb County. The Memorial has a Paver Program so that businesses, donors, veterans, and families have a chance to be part of the memorial and support the local military community. Pavers cost $100 each for an engraved paver that is four inches by eight inches, $200 for one that is an eight-inch square, and $400 for one that is a 16-inch square. Military memorial pavers are placed at the foot of the memorial while those from private donors are placed around the memorial.

Such events and programs designed to honor and bring awareness to veterans is often promoted with poster printing.

The annual Veterans Day Ceremony will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday November 10.
