Shelby Township to celebrate summer and July Fourth

The inaugural Shelby Township Summerfest will be held later this month.

It is sponsored by the Shelby Township Downtown Development Authority and will be a combination of the Shelby Township Independence Day Celebration and the Shelby Township Summer Kick-off in an event of two days that will be entertaining and exciting for both individuals and families.

To be held on the municipal campus, the Summerfest will start with a range of activities that will include a petting zoo, magicians, face painting, and strolling superheroes and princesses. The first day will also feature a live taping of “The Treehouse,” which airs on Shelby TV. There will be special segments such as Wildlife Safari’s animal encounters and Mad Science of Michigan’s science demonstrations. The day will end with an outdoor movie screening.

The second day will feature the Macomb Symphony Orchestra in a live performance. The grand finale will be a drone show that will be a salute to Independence Day.

During the two-day event, there will be a range of cuisine from local food trucks, vendors from Connect Macomb, and craft beer. Such special events offer a unique opportunity for such craft, food, and beer vendors to turn to local Print shops to assist them with promoting their products and services with Flyers, Posters, and other printed materials.

The dates for the Shelby Township Summerfest are Friday June 28 and Saturday June 29.
