Shelby Township greets holidays in style

Shelby Township will be bringing in the holiday season with several festive events.

Children and their families can enjoy a Breakfast with Santa at the Activity Center. There will be the chance for children to visit with the jolly old soul without having to wait in line at the mall. The price for a ticket is $12 for residents and $17 for non-residents. This includes a holiday craft and a small gift from St. Nick. Breakfast with Santa will be on Saturday, December 9 at 10:00 am.

Soon after, there will be Dinner and Dancing with Santa Claus at the Cherry Creek Golf Club. Dinner will be served at 6:30 pm, followed by dancing to seasonal songs spun by a DJ and visits with Santa Claus, complete with a gift for the children.

Tickets for residents are $15 for children two years old and younger, $27 for children between the ages of 3 and 12, and $31 for those 13 years of age and older. This event will be on Thursday, December 14 from 6:00 to 8:30 pm.

The Burgess-Shadbush Nature Center will be holding its annual Christmas Bird Count. There will be basic information on how to identify birds and how to attract and observe them, with many hikes around the park to choose from. This will be on Saturday, December 16 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon.

Festive events like these are often promoted throughout a township with flyer printing.
