Big John’s Pizza on Whitehall’s E. Colby Street is now open in easy driving distance of Shelby Township.
The Miller family founded the eatery in 1970, which had been on N. Thompson Street. The third owners of the restaurant have been Neal and Amy Martell since 2016. In May of last year, they were ready to close the restaurant as they felt their time to run it had ended. They wanted to sell the entire business last August and close it but with support from the community they decided instead to move it.
The new space has been renovated and offers 127 seats, which is three times what was offered at the previous location. Big John’s prides itself on all its menu items prepared by hand and everything made from scratch, including their thin crust pizza and marinara sauce. It provides a family-friendly atmosphere where people can enjoy a meal or take a pizza or two home for dinner.
In addition to their signature pizza, Big John’s offers subs, salads, side dishes, seafood dinners, Menus for children, and daily specials for both lunch and dinner.
Local Print shops can help spread the news about such new locations throughout a town and surrounding communities with Flyers and other printed materials.
Big John’s Pizza is open Monday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
