Several holiday events and activities will be held in Shelby Township this year.
Such activities and events can be promoted throughout a town with poster printing.
The first is the Shelby Township Christmas Coloring Contest. This is available to all residents of Shelby Township and students in the Utica Community Schools from kindergarten to second grade. Participants need to color the coloring sheet featuring the Christmas house, before adding their phone number, address, and name to the back.
Entries are due by Monday, November 13 at 5:00pm at the Shelby Township Library. The contest’s winner will have their entry displayed at the Christmas Aglow event and will have the chance to greet Sanat Claus on stage and present him with a special key to Shelby Township. This will be on Thursday, November 30.
Starting on Friday, November 27, children will be able to visit the children's area in the library, write Santa a letter, and drop it in the special mailbox. Letters need to be received by Saturday, December 9.
Shelby Townships will also have its Giving Tree. This is a list of items on Amazon that can be purchased for the food pantry at the Samaritan House. Items are then shipped to Township Hall and then delivered in January to the Samaritan House. Items can also be purchased and placed under the tree in Township Hall. The collection runs through Friday, December 22.
