The Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professionals Network (YPN) is collecting donations for the Shoebox Saginaw program again this year.
Shoebox Saginaw collects toiletries and small personal items to donate to local women in need. Donations can include toiletry items like toothpaste, shampoo and lotion, winter accessories like hats, scarves and gloves and other items such as Notebooks, wallets and nonperishable candy. Gift cards and cash donations to purchase additional items are also welcome. A full list of suggested donations is available on the Chamber’s website.
Those interested in donating can drop off their gifts during the Chamber’s December Percolator Breakfast on Thursday, December 5 or at the Chamber’s office during normal business hours, which are Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Those donating gift cards can also mail them to the Chamber. Organizations often use poster printing services to promote their charitable projects.
Young professionals will also meet at Trillium Banquet Center to wrap the gifts before sending them to the recipients. Those planning to attend should sign up on the Chamber’s website. Pizza will be served, and drinks will be available for sale. The YPN includes Chamber members in their 20s and 30s.
The YPN Gives Back wrapping session will take place on Thursday, December 5 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Trillium Banquet Center.
