Saginaw theater hosts campfire storytelling session

The Saginaw Choral Society is hosting a campfire stories event with author Johnathan Rand this fall.

Temple Theatre will be decorated to create a campfire atmosphere, with dim, flickering lights and a virtual fire. Johnathan Rand will tell stories, and the Saginaw Choral Society and Saginaw Youth will perform songs. The choral groups have chosen music to complement the narratives and provide an immersive experience for the audience.

After the show, Rand will be holding a book signing session in the Theatre’s Leopard Lounge. He is the author of the Michigan Chillers and American Chillers series, a long-running set of horror stories for kids. The Michigan Chillers Books take place in specific locations throughout the state and include Sinister Spiders of Saginaw, which is set locally. Books will be available for purchase, and attendees are also welcome to bring their own Copies to have signed. S’mores will be served, and other campfire-themed activities are also planned.

Tickets are available now on the Temple Theatre’s website. Prices range from $24 to $45 per reserved seat. The $45 seats are located on the premier balcony, and general admission tickets are available for $10. Theaters often work with Stationery printers to create programs for their events.

Campfire Stories with author Johnathan Rand will take place at the Temple Theatre on Saturday, October 19 at 3 pm.
