Saginaw scholarship organization to host golf outing

Saginaw Promise is hosting a golf fundraiser this summer.

Swinging for the Promise will include 18 holes of golf played in a four-person scramble format, as well as lunch and dinner. The game will begin with a shotgun start at 10:00 am. Golf carts will be provided. Barbecue will be served buffet-style for dinner. During dinner, awards and trophies will be presented, and participants can enter to win door prizes.

Those interested can download the registration form from Saginaw Promise’s website. The cost is $165 per person or $660 per team of four. Golfers can pay by card or check, and they should sign up by August 9. Several sponsorship opportunities are also available. Pricing and details are listed on the registration form. Event organizers often use banner printing services to recognize their major sponsors.

Saginaw Promise is a nonprofit that provides college scholarships to qualifying local students. These are “last dollar” scholarships intended to cover the gap between education expenses and other scholarships or financial aid awards. Part of Saginaw Promise’s mission as a place-based scholarship program is to attract talent and support economic development in the region, so students need to live in Saginaw and attend college or trade school in Michigan to qualify.

The Swinging for the Promise golf outing will take place on Thursday, August 15 at Saginaw Country Club. Registration opens at 8:45 am.
