Girls on the Run Great Lakes Bay is hosting a celebratory and fundraising run in Saginaw this November.
Runners of all ages are invited to participate in the Reindeer Run, which will support the local Girls on the Run program. Girls who have recently finished the 10-week program will also be running a 5k, which will start a few minutes after the Reindeer Run. Participants are encouraged to wear Christmas-themed outfits.
Registration is open now. The cost is $25 per person through October 31 and $30 after that. Girls on the Run participants are automatically signed up for the race. Participants are welcome to bring children in strollers, but the race course includes some gravel paths. All runners will receive a foam antler headband. Organizations often use banner printing services to highlight their brands at races and other events.
Girls on the Run is designed to help girls in third through eighth grades develop a running routine and important life skills. Participants are separated into elementary and middle school groups and meet twice a week for ten weeks. Volunteer coaches help girls increase their confidence, form connections, care for themselves and others and contribute to their communities.
The Reindeer Run benefitting Girls on the Run will take place on Saturday, November 18 at the YMCA of Saginaw. Registration will begin at 9 am.
